| Lately life has been going a mile a minute, I guess it does most of the time. Last weekend Nicole and I ventured to Chicago for Lollapalooza. it was really awesome. It was very interesting to me that when it all came down to watching whole sets and not just walking by, one only ends up watching 5 or 7 bands the whole day. That is okay with me. Let me start off by saying that I am in love with the cool kids and it was awesome seeing them and getting into their music. Actually I don't have a ton more to say. Hah. Kanye was excellent, and rage against the machine and radiohead as well. They were all great headliners. I had a great time at Girl Talk. yesterday I bought 'feed the animals' from his site. It is a ton of fun. This post is really just here to take up space, and update the most recent post by 6 months or what not. I don't really feel like writing this. aha sorry.
Upcoming concerts I'd love to go see: Friday, August 22 - Joanna Newsom with Chicago Symphony Orchestra - Symphony Center - Chicago, IL Tuesday, September 30 - Badfish - The Rave - Milwaukee, WI or Wednesday, October 1 - Badfish - Majestic - Madison, WI
sorry, I'm even losing interesting in making a list like this. Ben Folds is coming around to gb and chicago, Deerhoof (who I'd love to see) is finally coming around and stopping oct 15 (milwaukee) and oct 17 (chicago), and Of Montreal is playing on sunday, oct 26 at the Pabst. I am super stoked to see of montreal. They're so good.
Basically I'm really tired and stuff from my surgery on thursday. today i read the little prince again and I'm halfway done with perks because the other day tim said that molly gave it to him and I thought I'd read it again so we could talk about it.
My ipod died! for real this time. I plugged it into a overpowered usb port on my cousin's computer and it was fried. Right after that Nicole did the same thing, now we are both ipod-less and that's certainly quite lame. It's not that big of a deal, though. I feel like I got my 350 dollars worth of use over these past 1.5 years. eh, that still looks quite expensive. I'll be sure to get a nice warranty next time.
well au revoir and I hope everyone is having a good summer!

| I love against me!!
Today I scored a 1-4-7 in bowling. I'm super proud, as that is almost fifty points over my previous high.
I figured this out today, and I really think i'm onto something with this. If there's anyone out there that is familiar with both say anything's "every man has his molly" and superdrag's "sucked out", please tell me what you think of this.
"Every man has his Molly" starts out with a guitar riff that is essentually identical to part of the chorus of "sucked out". I realized this quite some time ago, yes, but today when I was listening to 'molly' i realized something new-
"here i am, laid down
at the end of my rope
wishing i had not been born
now i've spewed too much
i can never shut it up
i thought you should be warned
and i implied black sky
took the needle to my eye
and sucked out all its glow
molly connolly ruined my life
i thought the world should know"
The song title is in the lyrics! What larks! This can't be a coincidence.
I did have a really good day today. I feel so great about life. I love everyone I know.

| "I can see a lot of life in you, I can see a lot of bright in you, and I think that dress looks nice on you, I can see a lot of bright in you" Sufjan Stevens
Today I handed in my senior picture for the yearbook, did fairly well on the psychology test, didn't forget my band uniform, wasn't even the latest to jazz band. I scored several mat-ball runs in gym, and had a totally stress free night. Today could have gone much worse, but it didn't. It wasn't even sort of bad. What a great day.
After school, I played dance dance revolution and then drummed for a long time. I played the facebook 'I-like music challenge' for a while, and read a substantial amount of both Macbeth and Fight Club. I plan on hopefully finishing Fight Club by this weekend so I can see the movie on Saturday or something.
It's so nice to not have a paper to work on or anything!
Last week I bought two new cds, Sufjan Stevens's 'seven swans' and the soundtrack to The Royal Tenenbaums. Both cds are some I've been looking at for a year or so, so that's all fun. I haven't seen the royal tenenbaums but hope to this weekend.
Today I didn't audition for the play. It was a strange feeling... I don't think I will regret it. I'm excited to see it!
That's about it. I hope post finds you having a good day. Peace!

| So, I need to get a hold of 2 3V CR2 lithium batteries so this maxxum htsi plus camera will turn on, so I can get the film out of it and see what's on it. I'm very excited to do so. Right now I've got 3 or 4 rolls of undeveloped film from the past year or so. It's possible that I lost a 20 or 30 year old camera that belonged to yearbook... I haven't seen it in over a half a year. I also can't find my play script that needs to be handed in tomorrow... egh. I really think that someone picked it up for me from the dressing room when everyone was cleaning up.. I can't imagine taking it anywhere (Or whoever cleaned the dressing room not giving it to Schneider). I hope cory has it and just overlooked it. I'm tired of that sort of thing being my fault. Yesterday I wrote a letter to Mrs. Rock about how I'm doing in her class/school this year and it made me realize that I would love to start writing in a journal. I'm going to try and find something journal ish to start writing in--I want it to be more than paper, I want it to look neat. Today I started to read Fight Club again... I started it in the summer but stopped about 30 pages into it for no reason... I just finished Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins. It was fantastic. I leant my copy of Catcher in the Rye to Brett. My goal is to not take it home for the rest of the year- to keep giving it to new people. I think it probably smells like the cigars it was under in my musical locker. So should my script! It was right in there with the books and my a100! Sometimes life is so exasperating. Today I walked home from school. It was cold, but not too cold, and my backpack was heavy, but not too heavy. It was a great experience . . . I discovered a new shortcut (not walking to national on my way home, but just walking straight through past piggly wiggly, through the college residence area, through football field, past baseball diamonds straight to 4th) which cut off at least 10-15 minutes of my walk. Right now my favorite bands are Deerhoof, Say Anything, The Beatles, Hella, Thermals. <3 Brandon | | |
